Do You Look After Someone?
Individuals irrespective of age, who provide or supervise a substantial amount of care on a regular basis of a child, relative, partner or neighbour who is unable to manage on their own due to illness, disability, frailty, mental distress or impairment are carers.
At The Barn Surgery we are carer aware and want to help and support you in the best way we can.
We have leaflets available in our reception area and if you wish to take one whereby you can self-refer to Carers Support West Sussex, we also would be grateful if you ask at reception for our Carers Registration form so that we know about you too!
If we know you have a caring role we can help you with flexible appointment times, you may be entitled to a free flu jab and we can provide information and local authority resources and contact points.
Our dedicated carers noticeboard is in the lobby and will display events and support services available.
We have a nominated ‘Carers Champion’ at the surgery and that is Pam, although all our staff are trained to help and understand carers and provide information to support you.
We are here to help so please ask us.
